In a bureaucracy, serving the internal systems and processes takes precedence over serving customers… In Agile organizations, everyone in the organization has a clear line of sight to the ultimate customer or user and can see how work is adding value to that customer or user—or not

Challenges
Implementing agile ways of working in teams starts with a lot of enthusiasm and motivation. However, the learning curve is often steep and when we overcome the initial steep part, the curve flattens on top. Then teams typically stop learning and stop improving. Lack of transparency and documentation of ways of working impact the sustainable change whenever old team members leave and new ones are introduced. Agile becomes a routine, a KPI, or a check mark on a maturity assessment.
Benefits
With our assessments, you will receive a comprehensive and external view on the agile principles and values within your organization. Based on the observations, we will suggest a “Definition of Awesome“ with a detailed backlog of activities on how you can proceed on your journey to higher agility without any further external support.
Solution
Teams are only agile, when they keep learning and have mechanisms in place to make sense of the constantly changing environments. Teams, who are Agile by routine, are doing things “because they have always been done like that”. It is not questioned and hence, continuous improvement stops.
A temporary external observer can support organizations and teams in their challenge to keep continuously improving. We assess your team, department, or whole organization on the Agile values and principles and how they are lived and visible through the organization.
Our Organizational or Team assessments are not checklists based on activities, but qualitative observations on how the teams behave, collaborate and achieve value together.
Our observations are categorized into the five dimensions System/Management, Teamwork/Cooperation, Enthusiasm/Identification, Responsibility/Self-Organization and Bravery/Innovation. We evaluate each observation into a traffic light system (red: change, yellow: observe, green: celebrate) and give you suggestions to improve based on Agile values and principles. The assessment is not a validation if you have enough Scrum Masters, but rather if you have set up an organizational system, which supports agility and resilience.
